Terminating a group plan (or retirees from a group plan) can be a dramatic step for a company.  Many employers offer retiree health coverage out of a sense of obligation or duty to their workforce, and are reluctant to cede that responsibility.  For those employers, we offer the option to compare individual Medicare plans against the company’s retiree plan and allow retirees to make up their own mind about their options.  Like in the SeniorTRANSITION product, employers have the option to subsidize individual product elections through HRA (Health Reimbursement Accounts) accounts, meaning the employer can still assist retirees should individual plans be chosen.  This option puts decision power with retirees to optimize their coverage based on their needs and preferences, and allows the employer to start down the road of moving from a defined benefit to a defined contribution orientation.
